As the governing body of more than 120 collegiate club hockey programs, the Collegiate Hockey Federation (CHF) mission is to provide for and enable the best club hockey experience for collegiate student-athletes in the United States.
The CHF was started in July of 2019 by 5 individuals with long histories in the sport as players, coaches, and administrators across many youth and collegiate programs - and was designed and built “fit for purpose” to offer college student-athletes an alternative option to participate in a better club hockey experience than currently offered by others. We were able to put the infrastructure in place over the summer and the inaugural CHF season was kicked off in September 2019 with over 80 collegiate programs in 3 conferences covering Upper New York State, New England, Long Island, and Mid-Atlantic states.
With the recent addition of the SECHC, SCHC, and ACC DIII programs to complement our inaugural conferences which include the UNYCHL, DVCHC, and Empire, our coverage across DII and DIII now spans the majority of the east coast. We anticipate adding more programs before starting the upcoming season in January based on the excitement and success of our inaugural season.
